First Aid Essential Oil Supplies

Lest you assume that I work for a MLM company, I do not and I find it reprehensible for anyone to be charged such an excessive amount for a bottle of scented oil. The only two that I’ve ever paid an exorbitant amount for is rose absolut and vanilla essential oil in carrier oil.

I will remind readers again that I’m not a medical professional and you will need to experiment with what works for your body. I can only guide you towards the oils and trust that you will do the foot work needed to discover their uses.

And I cannot express enough that should anyone try to convince you that there is a “medical professional grade” oil, it’s nothing more than a sales attempt to fleece you out of your hard-earned income. I personally prefer to purchase essential oils from a company called Vita Cost and they have wonderfully reasonable prices.

Some important tips to remember is that many essential oils must be diluted in a carrier base, especially if you plan on using them on infants or children. I personally have never used essential oils on my very young children’s skin but have used them in chest rubs and in their humidifiers during sickness. The most common carrier oils used for dilution are grapeseed, jojoba, olive, coconut and almond. Please make sure that you store your essential oils in glass jars and bottles because plastic will allow their fragrance to escape.

Be aware that many essential oils are listed as phototoxic, and you need to do deep educational research into which preparations are considered such and prevent these oils from being applied on anyone if they will be spending time outside. When these oils are activated by the UV rays, they will present as a sunburn or in severe cases blisters that can get worse upwards of 72 hrs. after exposure. This type of burn will result in skin discoloration for many months afterwards.

I have numerous herbalist books that are put together by individuals who have spent many years studying essential oil uses and almost every essential oil has a warning alongside it that essential oil is unsafe when taken internally. I would advise you not to take anything internally despite what MLM may tell you. Get yourself some well-reviewed herbalist books so that you can educate yourself on the true uses and value of essential oils.
