With all of the mysterious fertilizer fires and other related accidents happening right now, I wanted to compile ingredients for you to keep on hand for mixing up your own fertilizer at home. By no means is this the most comprehensive list but use it as a jumping off point.
Before you play the role of “mad scientist”, please get your soil tested. You can contact your local Ag office and they should be able to recommend a company, or your local hardware store may do it for free or cheap. Ideally, you will want to do these every 1-2 years to keep an eye on your levels.
